Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the center of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. “This pig is innocent. She deserves this act of mercy. Her criminal record is spotless,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with obvious nods to the vast quantity of executive clemencies issued from the start of the commencement of a current administration. “Except perhaps for eating six or seven apples per day,” the mayor added. “Let this swine have a long and happy life away from worry.” The event, either celebrating or rejecting the region’s Hispanic tradition of consuming swine during the holidays, was created to mirror the annual turkey pardoning at the White House. The pig, provided by a first responder, was christened after the current slang trend of young people exclaiming “six seven” – inspired by a musical verse – often seemingly at random. The phrase became so widespread that a leading lexicon site recently declared “six-seven” its annual vocabulary selection. A Future Secured Six Seven the pig is now set to enjoy its days at a countryside refuge “distant from barbecues and spits”, according to the ceremony's official statement. “The pig pardon has become a cherished method to begin the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a particularly upbeat message. “It embodies the essence of Miami: vibrant, varied, and grounded in customs that unite the community. Annually, we are delighted to mark heritage and mercy in a way only Miami can.” Guests enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach croquetas and Cuban coffee as they toasted Six Seven’s big moment.
