Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community offered its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
