National Authorities Issue Firm Rebukes

In response to the intervention warning, Ali Shamkhani, adviser to the country's highest authority, warned that Iran’s national security were a “red line, not a subject for adventurist tweets”.

“Any foreign interference nearing Iran security on any excuse will be met with a swift consequence,” the official posted.

A separate high-ranking figure, Ali Larijani, alleged the US and Israel of orchestrating the protests, a typical response by the government when addressing domestic dissent.

“Trump must realize that US intervention in this internal issue will lead to turmoil in the Middle East and the harm to Washington's stakes,” the official declared. “The public must know that the former president is the one that began this escalation, and they should pay attention to the well-being of their troops.”

Context of Strain and Protest Scope

Iran has vowed to strike foreign forces deployed in the region in the before, and in recent months it launched strikes on Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar after the American attacks on Iranian nuclear enrichment sites.

The ongoing demonstrations have been centered in Tehran but have also reached other cities, such as Isfahan. Though the currency crisis are the main issue, protesters have also chanted political demands and criticized what they said was graft and poor governance.

Official Approach Changes

The nation's leader, the president, offered talks with protest leaders, adopting a softer stance than authorities did during the 2022 protests, which were met with force. Pezeshkian noted that he had ordered the government to listen to the people's valid concerns.

The fatalities of protesters, could, could signal that the state are becoming more forceful as they address the protests as they continue. A statement from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps on Monday stated that it would respond forcefully against any foreign interference or “unrest” in the country.

As the government deal with internal challenges, it has sought to counter allegations from the US that it is rebuilding its nuclear programme. Iran has stated that it is ceased such work anywhere in the country and has expressed it is willing to engage in negotiations with the international community.
